Kashmir is also known as heaven on earth. It is full of natural beauty and lots of valleys. The best time to visit is during the summer season to escape that scorching heat and if you are a snow lover then you should visit during the winter season to witness the beauty of the snow-covered white mountains. It is also a placed strawberry valley. You can also enjoy a picnic brunch and have a look at the breathtaking views. Kashmir is something that you should definitely visit at least once in your lifetime and should get an experience that you will remember your whole life.

Srinagar

Srinagar is the largest city in Kashmir and also the summer capital of Jammu and  Kashmir. Popular for its traditional creative handicrafts, clothes, and pashmina shawls it is located between the banks of the Jhelum river. It has varieties for of restaurants that serve authentic food. The city is mainly famous for the Dal lake. The local market of Srinagar is quite famous as well once visit there you should definitely explore the market and shop for beautiful handmade handicrafts. It is also home to some of the famous gardens of India.

Gulmarg 

Gulmarg is a beauty in itself and along with that it offers various sports activities for adventure lovers which include skiing and snowboarding at very reasonable prices. It has a gondola system in which you can have a look that the valley at once and the view from there is mesmerizing. It has the famous strawberry valley. The famous song ‘Jai Jai shiv Shankar’ of Rajesh Khanna’s film ‘Aap ki kasam 1974’ has been shot here which made that temple quite iconic. 

Pahalgam

The distance from Srinagar to Pahalgam is 2.5 hours. The mountains, the trees, and the crystal-clear water everything are just so perfect about this place and it is literally a blessing to your eyes. It also has the Aru valley. The peace you get there cannot be described in words. 

Sonamarg

Sonamarg also known as Sona Marg holds great significance in the history of India as it was a route to transfer silk between India and China. It has lots of beautiful lakes. It is just 77km away from Kargil and Thajiwas glaciers are just 3km from Sona Marg so if you adventure junkie you should definitely take a trek. Sona marg is also famous for trekking. 

Betaab valley

Betaab valley was formerly known as Hagan Valley or Hajan valley. It is located in the Anantnag district at a distance of about 15km from Pahalgam. You will also find some decent hotels near the valley and the nearest airport is the Srinagar airport. Betaab valley is a major attraction for a lot of tourists.

Pari Mahal

Pari Mahal also known as Peer Mahal comprises gardens that are seven-Terence. From Pari mahal you can have a look at the whole of Srinagar at once including the dal lake. There is also a golf course nearby. Pari-mahal is a perfect picnic spot for your family and a perfect place to spend your evening. The historical architecture makes the place quite fascinating and makes you want to learn about its history of the place. Mahal is surrounded by beautiful trees and it is full of delightful mountains.

Amarnath temple

Amarnath temple is one of the Hindu shrines. It is found in the Anantnag district of  Jammu and Kashmir. The Amarnath yatra consists of a difficult mountainous trek and every year millions of devotees come to Amarnath to collect the blessings of lord shiva. However, you can only do the yatra in the month of July-August. If you are uncomfortable walking various horse, palki, and pithoo rides are also available. It usually takes 4-5 days to complete the yatra from the base point. There are two ways to reach Amarnath one via Pahalgam and one via Baltal. If you wish to visit there you should definitely get a booking in advance.

Chashme Shai gardens

The Chashme Shai gardens are located in the city of Srinagar. The gardens are filled with beautiful flowers and trees. The gardens are based on Mughal architecture. These gardens are one of the oldest gardens of Srinagar and are a major attraction for tourists. The best time to visit is during the summer season especially from May to June if you want to witness the eye-gazing greenery and the full-bloomed flowers. 

Dal lake

Dal lake is situated in Srinagar. Some part of the lake is covered with natural floating gardens. You can ride the lake on Shikaras and take a full view of the lake. You can also shop from the shikaras, you can buy various types of pashmina or Kashmiri shawls, the famous Kashmiri kahava, and jewelry. You can take a tour of the whole lake with hot tea in your hand. You can also spend a night in the houseboat. The experience of living in a houseboat is of a different level and the interior is just so beautiful.

Indira Gandhi tulip garden formerly known as the Floriculture Center is a garden full of different colors of tulips and it is the largest tulip garden in Asia.  The air is filled with the smell of fresh flowers making it a whole romantic place. Tulips are beautifully arranged column-wise. The weather there is always good hence making it a perfect place for a day outing.

Kashmir is indeed the crown of India and one place of beauty.  From Sonamarg to Gulmarg, Betaab valley to dal lake,  Pahalgam to Srinagar it is full of natural beauty, and each place has its significance and is special in its way but one thing is for sure that you enjoy your best and will get peace within. You can travel by road to Kashmir by the national highway between Jammu and Kashmir or take a train to the Srinagar railway station or you can board a flight to Srinagar airport. It is the true essence of beauty. Kashmir is just perfect if you want to visit with your family and it is also famous for romantic trips. You can also try the traditional outfits of the Kashmiri people and get yourself clicked. During summer the temperature there is just perfect not too hot not too cold.
